Lundy Law Library Express is a partnership between Lundy Law, a personal injury law firm serving generations of families in the Delaware and Leigh Valleys for more than 50 years, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

The Lundy Law Library Express is a project of the Lundy Law Foundation, which was started by the employees of Lundy Law in memory of the law firm’s founder, Marvin Lundy. One of the Foundation’s goals is to provide resources to children in need where the law firm maintains it's offices.

Volunteers will bring colorful, rolling carts full of new books, coloring books and activity books to children restricted to their rooms and to children while they are undergoing their treatments. And, of course, the books will be theirs to keep. In addition, there will be story hour events that will include celebrity readers and authors.

The law firm approached CHOP to implement a program which would provide comfort and some normalcy to its young patients. CHOP revealed studies showing that there is a positive correlation between wellness and the availability of books to entertain and educate patients. The same studies have shown that books provide a clinician with a greater and more natural ability to assess a child’s development and progress.

From there, the idea of making new books accessible to each patient regardless of their mobility took flight and is now the Lundy Law Library Express. The new donated books will help entertain and educate children who are being treated at the hospital and are unable to go to the CHOP library. Lundy Law is excited about putting a smile on children’s faces during difficult and sometimes critical times.

Beginning this summer, Lundy Law and CHOP will be conducting book drives throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware to collect NEW books for children ages 2-17.
